Recently, speculation regarding next year’s iPhone Fold has been on the rise, yet details about Apple’s other forthcoming foldable product have been scarce. Despite some reports suggesting a longer timeline, a new analyst’s note indicates that the 18.8-inch iPad ‘Fold’ is set for a 2026 launch.
Apple is gearing up to launch a foldable iPhone and iPad in 2026, according to Pu
Analyst Jeff Pu has recently released a research note, shared with DMN, outlining his projections for Apple in the upcoming years.
A particularly noteworthy detail is Pu’s assertion that there will be not just one, but two foldable devices from Apple scheduled for release next year.
According to Pu, both devices are expected to commence mass production in the fourth quarter of 2026.
This isn’t the first time Pu has mentioned this; he first alluded to it in August. However, since then, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has stated that the foldable would be released significantly later.
Here’s what Gurman wrote in December:
Apple’s designers are working on a device similar to a large iPad that unfolds to the dimensions of two iPad Pros placed side by side. The company has been refining this product for several years and aims to launch it around 2028, as I’ve been informed.
The 2028 timeline certainly contrasts with Pu’s 2026 forecast, allowing Apple to gauge market response to foldables with the iPhone Fold beforehand.
DMN’s Perspective
Typically, Pu’s notes factor in a wide array of elements, including insights from Gurman and supply chain intelligence.
It’s intriguing that he has reiterated his belief that Apple will unveil two foldable devices next year, rather than just one.
Launching both a foldable iPhone and iPad simultaneously would be a bold strategy for the company, making fall 2026 potentially one of its most thrilling product launches in history.
For now, I remain cautiously optimistic and hope to receive more updates soon.
