Apple Extends F1 Movie Promotion with Innovative Immersive Hot Lap Experience on Apple Vision Pro

Noticed by Sigmund Judge, Apple is ramping up its promotional efforts for F1: The Movie, which hits theaters on June 27 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ later this year.

Apple is clearly making significant efforts to increase awareness of the film. So far, we’ve seen the company unveil a unique haptic trailer, kick off WWDC with an F1-themed sketch, and Tim Cook along with Brad Pitt made an unexpected appearance at the Fifth Avenue Apple Store over the weekend, among various media interviews. Additionally, Apple has unveiled a new Hot Lap Immersive experience, now accessible through the TV app on Apple Vision Pro.

This new immersive experience allows users wearing the headset to feel the excitement of high-speed racing, featuring Brad Pitt in the driver’s seat as he takes a spin around a track. Like all Apple Immersive experiences, it is filmed in a special 180-degree video format at an impressive 8K resolution, fully leveraging the technical capabilities of the Vision Pro.

While immersive content is indeed the standout feature of the Vision Pro, the launch saw limited options available. In the past year, Apple has improved its rollout of new immersive features more consistently. They even introduced their first feature-length immersive film last month, titled Bono: Stories of Surrender.

Moreover, Apple has launched a new Spatial Gallery app that curates and showcases an array of additional content optimized for Vision Pro, including 3D photos and panoramic views.
