Apple Launches Beta 2 of iOS 26

Apple has launched iOS 26 beta 2, replacing the earlier iOS 26 beta 1 that was released on June 9, with an updated version for iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 arriving on June 13.

The latest pre-release version is now available for developers testing the beta. Apple plans to broaden the iOS 26 beta testing phase in July as it introduces the substantial new version to its public beta channel.

What’s New in iOS 26

iOS 26 is set to follow iOS 18. This year, Apple is synchronizing the version numbering across all its operating systems to reflect the upcoming year. This approach aligns iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS under version 26 instead of their previous numbers (19, 16, 12, 3, and 19).

In addition, Apple is unifying its six operating systems with a fresh design language, incorporating a visual feature referred to as Liquid Glass. This includes glass-like tab bars and an optional transparent icon theme, defining iOS 26 with new visual effects showcasing light and color interacting and reshaping behind user interface components like tab bars and chrome.

iOS 26 brings a wealth of new features and functionalities, which we explore in detail on our site. Check out an overview from Apple here.
