Today, Apple has kicked off the sale of refurbished versions of the newly launched MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip, offering a discount of about 15% off the retail price. This follows the introduction of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in Black and the M4 Max/M3 Ultra Mac Studio earlier this week.
Apple’s Refurbished Macs are meticulously inspected and generally appear as good as new — aside from the packaging. As part of Apple’s refurbishment program, all vital components are replaced, ensuring top-notch quality. Additionally, you receive the same one-year warranty, with the option to purchase AppleCare+ if desired.
The starting price for refurbished M4 MacBook Air models is $849, available in all four colors: Sky Blue, Starlight, Midnight, and Silver. The base models come equipped with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. At present, 15-inch configurations are not in stock, but they should be available soon.
While this deal is reasonable, it’s important to mention that Amazon is currently offering the new M4 MacBook Air at a similar starting price of $849. They also have the 15-inch M4 MacBook Air listed for $1049.
That being said, the Apple Refurbished section is still an excellent place to find deals on high-end configurations. For instance, Apple offers a 1TB/32GB version of the 13-inch M4 MacBook Air for $1529, which is a solid bargain if those specifications meet your needs.
