Apple has launched its annual Back to School promotion this week, providing complimentary AirPods and additional accessories with the purchase of a new Mac or iPad.
As the Back to School season gains momentum, Apple has rolled out a light-hearted new video aimed at college students, sharing tips on “how to persuade your parents to get you a Mac.”
The seven-minute video debuted on Apple’s YouTube channel today, showcasing new college students rehearsing their pitches to convince their parents to buy them a Mac instead of a PC for their studies.
The video’s presenter states:
“One cannot put a price on a healthy spine. One major factor that influences spine health in teenagers is, you guessed it, the weight of their school bags. The MacBook Air weighs just 2.7 pounds. Perhaps your parents don’t care about your spine, but I doubt it, right?”
Additionally:
“To sum it up, you can get a MacBook Air for $899, or choose a PC, but then you also need antivirus software, manual backup solutions, a protective case, a guard dog to protect it from your roommate, an external power bank… It’s just crazy.”
Apple has gone beyond just the video. You can visit its website to download a “Parent Presentation” that lists “45 undeniable reasons why a Mac is crucial for college.” This presentation is available for free in PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Keynote formats.
