Apple TV+ Welcomes Three Exciting New Shows!

Apple’s television division is achieving remarkable success this year. Following the finale of its biggest success, Severance, Apple TV+ is now presenting three outstanding new series that each bring something distinctive to the lineup.

#1: Your Friends & Neighbors

A couple of years ago, Apple TV+ featured a humorous advertisement showcasing “everyone but Jon Hamm.” Hamm played a role in that video, expressing his disappointment that Apple TV+ had all the top stars while he was left out.

That same year, Hamm made his entrance in The Morning Show for its third season.

Now, Apple TV+ has debuted its own Hamm-led series: Your Friends & Neighbors.

Described as a blend of Breaking Bad and Big Little Lies, Hamm portrays a finance professional who, after experiencing a downfall, begins stealing from his affluent neighbors.

Here’s the official synopsis from Apple:

After being fired in disgrace, a hedge fund manager grappling with a recent divorce resorts to stealing from the homes of his wealthy neighbors in the affluent Westmont Village, only to uncover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind their lavish facades may be more perilous than he ever expected.

The first two episodes of Your Friends & Neighbors have just launched, and Apple has already approved the series for a second season.

#2: The Studio

If highbrow character drama isn’t your cup of tea, Apple’s latest comedy hit may appeal to you instead.

The Studio features Seth Rogen as both a star and co-creator, and it’s the sort of show that might have once made Jon Hamm a bit envious.

This is due to the impressive ensemble of Hollywood celebrities featured throughout the series.

The show revolves around the filmmaking world, offering numerous opportunities for guest appearances by stars like Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron, Olivia Wilde, Zac Efron, Zoë Kravitz, and many others. Even the CEO of Netflix jumps into the mix.

Here’s the summary provided by Apple:

Seth Rogen plays Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of the troubled Continental Studios. While movies struggle to remain relevant, Matt and his team of quarrelsome executives confront personal insecurities as they deal with egocentric artists and ruthless corporate overlords, all in a relentless quest to create great films. In a high-pressure world where every gala, set visit, casting call, marketing meeting, and award show presents a chance for glittering success or disastrous failure, Matt pursues the job of his dreams—one that may ultimately lead to his ruin.

The Studio currently has four episodes available, with new installments being released weekly until May 21.

#3: Dope Thief

Crime thrillers have emerged as a highlight on Apple TV+, and the latest offering is particularly notable.

Dope Thief, featuring Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura, is executive produced by Ridley Scott, who also directed its inaugural episode.

With an engaging and action-packed storyline complemented by well-placed comedic moments, Dope Thief stands out as a third compelling new series on Apple TV+.

Here’s how Apple describes the show:

Based on the book by Dennis Tafoya, the series follows a group of longtime friends from Philadelphia who pretend to be DEA agents to rob a secluded house in the countryside, only to find themselves caught in a life-threatening scenario as they inadvertently uncover and unravel the biggest hidden drug route on the Eastern Seaboard.

Dope Thief has six episodes available now, with new releases continuing weekly until April 25.

New Apple TV+ shows: wrap-up

The impressive strength of Apple’s current TV+ offerings would have seemed unlikely just a year or two ago when the service’s hit rate was inconsistent. However, over the past nine months, Apple TV+ has been on an incredible roll that shows no signs of slowing down.

I never thought I’d suggest this, but: who needs Severance?

Apple TV+ is currently available for just *$2.99* per month as part of a limited-time promotion.
