Apple Vision ‘Air’ to Feature Lightweight Titanium and Black Color Option, According to Leak

Recent leaks about the successor to the Vision Pro have surfaced, revealing insightful details about Apple’s intentions for a sleeker, lighter visionOS model possibly named the Apple Vision Air.

Apple Vision Air May Introduce Significant Visual Enhancements

Today, leaker Kosutami shared the following information on X:

Our next addition to the Vision lineup is remarkably slim, crafted from titanium to minimize weight, encompassing both the connectors and the battery, and all comes in a black reminiscent of the iPhone 5 – which appears as a dark graphite blue. It’s important to note: this may not be labeled as ‘Pro’, but you can ‘Air’ it out.

Several notable aspects arise from this information:

  • Kosutami mentions the device’s “thin” design, suggesting an exciting hardware upgrade
  • Titanium will be utilized not only for the headset but also for the connectors and battery
  • A color scheme in graphite black/blue
  • And lastly, the hint at the ‘Air’ designation

A follow-up reveal indicated that while the Vision Air will predominantly feature aluminum on the exterior with a “midnight black-like surface,” titanium will significantly aid in reducing the weight of internal parts.

In another update, Kosutami offered a preview of the new connector for the Vision Air, which is thicker than the standard Lightning port.

These leaks come in the wake of Mark Gurman’s report regarding Apple’s development of two new Vision headsets – one designed to be lighter and more affordable, while the other integrates directly with a Mac.

DMN’s Perspective

I’m thrilled to see Apple’s ongoing commitment to the Vision lineup, and these rumors about a possible Apple Vision Air are particularly captivating.

If Apple can produce a visionOS headset that is significantly lighter, thinner, and more budget-friendly, especially in an attractive black hue? That could be a fantastic next-generation offering. Here’s hoping they can launch it in the upcoming year.
