For Aron Beierschmitt, the very evolution from a play-to-earn structure to a play-and-earn model does suggest that there is still a lot of maturation and experimentation that needs to be seen for such games. He believes that nothing has gone through a major change when it comes to making games. Yet, with the introduction of blockchain technology, crypto gamers and natives will now be able to play, own, and also monetize from these play-and-earning models.

But, the main question that stands is- is this model sustainable at all? After all, the hype that previously surrounded the play-to-earn games and platforms has already started dwindling this year. Most of the participants of Web3 have also started emphasizing the need for these games to be a lot more fun and less oriented towards finance.

Aron Beierschmitt Has An Explanation For The Deterioration Of P2E Games

When the question regarding the shift in the sentiment around a PE structure was placed, Aron Beierschmitt stated that it was charting quite a path to sustainability which would come through the combination of economic farming simulation going at the same real-time module which was skill-based gaming loops- something that would be attracting more users into this ecosystem.

Interestingly, the gaming loops not only have a semblance of function and form, but they also need to be fun and quite engaging for the players. However, he has also stated that the games based on blockchain are definitely not for everyone- with the target demographic for Crypto Unicorns being more in line with those who are adept at crypto.

Aron Beierschmitt believes that there is definitely quite a lack of incentive alignment for free-to-play, whereby most of the developers would be maximizing on extracting the value from the minority of the players who spend their time in free-to-play games.
