Barcelona sat on a journey to UD Cornella in the evening. Fresh off the Supercopa De Espana, where they were defeated by Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona tried not to let another upset settle. They succeeded at that. They won the game today with extra time and a score of 2-0. Disappointments were expressed following the win against such opponents.

The expectations were burdened on their shoulders following the defeat of Real Madrid yesterday. The team was defeated off the prestigious Copa Del Rey game against Alcoyano, who stretched it to an extra time and took the match home. Ronald Koeman spoke about the match after the game subsided. He was seemingly and understandably frustrated. It was due to his team’s effort to go so far as to defeat a mere lesser opposition.

Ronald Koeman’s Reaction To Barcelona’s Game

The coach of the La Liga team, Barcelona, was seemingly not happiest. In his comments, he said that getting through the round of ties was “most important.” He also said that the team could not merely be happy just because the team scored goals. The team has to take, according to Koeman, “more responsibility” through such cut-throat matches.

The disappointment must’ve come since Barcelona made two penalties. This also created great opportunities for the opposing players. Koeman added that the game is not just about running. It is also about “being effective” as well as “creative.” Further, he admitted that the less of both the above qualities have “cost” them today. It could not be “accepted.”

In such games, he continued to say that there is “less to gain” yet “lots to lose.” He later admitted a shade of pride, perhaps the slightest, saying that they played a “great game.” But Barcelona could’ve had a more straightforward game.
