Blockstream, the leading provider of both open-source and commercial Bitcoin technologies recently upgraded its Bitcoin mining facility. The purchased hardware will be used across Canada and the US in all its mining facilities.

The company is said to deliver a range of products and services that make the adoption of Bitcoin and peer-to-peer finance easier than ever.

Blockstream made the public announcement in an official statement issued by the company yesterday, January, 27th. They are said to have purchased the bitcoin mining hardware from a Shenzhen-based equipment provider, MicroBT, who are known as the world’s leading manufacturer of Bitcoin mining hardware.

Blockstream Hints Towards Extension Beyond The US And Canada

The company further elaborated on the new mining hardware that they have purchased. They mentioned that they are confident that is no better mining equipment currently in the market than MicroBT’s WhatsMiner equipment. The total cost adds up to $25 Million, according to the statement provided by the blockchain service providing company.

The new equipment will be initially deployed in the US and Canada. However, the company mentioned that they are holding onto plans of expansion into the wider market in the near future. This is especially owing to the rapidly increasing demands of these types of services across the globe.

In the press release issued by the company, Blocksream mentions that they currently offer “enterprise-class Bitcoin mining colocation services” to all the institutions that require turnkey solutions. Among the list of their current clients are FCAT (Fidelity Center for Applied Technology), Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn and other prominent personalities.

With the incorporation of the WhatsMiner hardware into the Blockstream crypto-mining tech, the company now promises to be more reliable, smooth and efficient than ever. Blockstream’s latest reports also suggest that they would like to continue their relationship with MicroBT in the future as well.
