New Paramount CIA Drama ‘Lioness’ Is Starring Morgan Freeman Along With Star-Studded Casting

The new Taylor Sheridan-steered drama is rumored to cast Award Winner actor Morgan Freeman to play the United States secretary alongside stars Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman. The studio announced on Friday the casting of the Oscar winner actor at 85. Freeman will be starring as Edwin Mullins, a U.S. state secretary in this Paramount drama. 

Based on a real CIA project, Lioness is followed by a Marine corp Cruz Manuelos played by Laysla De Oliveira who engages with a terrorist group with the help of a member’s daughter in an attempt to take it down.

Zoe Saldana will play the role of Joe, the chief in-station of the program ‘Lioness’ tasked with managing, training, and guiding her fellow female undercover in the team. Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman’s role which was announced just last week is of a veteran CIA Senior Supervisor named Kaitlyn Made. The role showcases her struggles with managing both family and profession along with the training of a fellow mate who is ensuing in her footsteps. 

The series was created by Sheridan who walked in for Thomas Brady after the befall led the previous producers to split ways in agreement. Apart from Kidman, Saldaña, Sheridan, and Wagner as executive producers of the program, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, and John Hillcoat will also work alongside each other.

Emmy-Nominated star Morgan Freeman was recently seen as part of the new anthology series named Solos and in a program for children called The Electric Company. He also previously worked on Princess of the Row, Madam Secretary, and The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain as co-executive producers. This year seems to be promising for Morgan Freeman. In the coming March, the artist will be hitting the big screens with A Good Person directed by Zach Braff, and co-stars Florence Pugh.
