The release of Cyberpunk 2077 as a revolution in the field of RPG, open-world games, has failed horribly- with several complaints regarding its performance. And after this unmitigated disaster, the CEO of CDPR, the company which has created this game, has come down to the field to level all the issues. In a statement, Marcin Iwinski apologized to the fans for the shortcomings of a game that was said to be a game-changer. Interestingly, the problems faced by PC users while playing this game has been significantly less than the ones faced by console users.

Why Did Cyberpunk 2077 Fall Short Of Perfection With the Consoles?

To this, Iwinski attributed the in-game streaming system to be the major reason behind the issues. He stated that the system helped Cyberpunk 2077 feed content and game mechanics. The problem arose because the feed continued without frequent breaks for loading. To ensure that the graphics and gameplay remained the same, quite a few hardware modules had to turn down the features. But that wasn’t possible with the in-game streaming stations- hence the glitches.

The CEO mentioned that they hadn’t thought the game would be this glitchy on a console. But due to the city in Cyberpunk 2077 being super packed, the gen consoles couldn’t handle the clutter.

But Iwinski wasn’t as forthcoming when it came to answering questions about why the glitches weren’t noticed earlier. All that he mentioned was that the company had conducted a series of tests to check up on the progress and upgrade wherever necessary. Unfortunately, most of the problems faced by users while playing Cyberpunk 2077 never came up during the tests. Also, the pandemic had severely hampered the production and communication channels- so they had quite a few unplanned disasters disrupting their dream game.
