This year, there haven’t been many attempts to provide extra financial help, leaving Americans constantly disappointed as they hoped for a fourth stimulus check from the federal administration. However, some lawmakers still support making extra direct deposits into at least some American bank accounts.

As a matter of fact, on December 6th, 2022, Congressman Adam Schiff said that he’d written a letter to the two Democrats who, at present, hold the seats of Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, and Steny Hoyer, House Majority Leader. In the letter, Schiff encouraged his associates to act in order to advance legislation that would give certain Americans additional stimulus check worth several thousand dollars.

Schiff’s Take On Stimulus Check And Tax Credits

The latest law that offered stimulus compensation for financial losses associated with COVID-19 was the American Rescue Plan Act. Congressman Schiff was asking Democratic legislators to propose this enhanced CTC once more. The American Rescue Plan Act’s tax credit enhancement was set to expire at the end of December 2021, but Schiff thinks it must be extended indefinitely to support another round of stimulus checks.

According to Schiff, the credit lifted a million children out of poverty and helped 60 million or more households overall by increasing the amount of money that was transferred into their accounts. He added that there was evidence that the economy had benefited from the increased credit.

Other left-leaning lawmakers other than Schiff have frequently expressed support for maintaining the increased CTC. One of Biden’s administration’s top priorities has been this credit. This is probably how any additional financial assistance from the federal government will look.

It’s still uncertain whether the increase in credit could receive enough votes to succeed. However, the likelihood that parents will receive the additional assistance they so desperately need will only rise if other congressmen and senators join Schiff in calling for action.
