There have been numerous discussions about the anticipated new interface for iOS 19, which is likely to adopt elements from visionOS. To provide a clearer perspective on how iOS 19 might appear, various designers have crafted concept illustrations—two notable ones are showcased below.
Concepts for iOS 19
The first concept, envisioned by Pedro Lopes, depicts an iOS 19 interface with minimal modifications instead of a radical redesign. Lopes retains much of the original layout while incorporating features reminiscent of the Apple Vision Pro’s operating system. For example, visual elements like notifications, the Dock, and Control Center exhibit enhanced depth and shadowing.
Additionally, certain buttons, such as the share option, now float freely on the screen rather than being fixed to a navigation bar. The design also includes a keyboard with slightly rounded corners, along with familiar macOS iconography.

Another fascinating concept, presented by Minimal Nerd, imagines an Apple Music app on macOS featuring a translucent backdrop. Currently, only the sidebar of macOS apps showcases transparency, while the main view has a solid background. This concept parallels visionOS’s approach, where applications are fully translucent to harmonize the digital interface with the physical environment.
This design could easily be translated to the iPad as well.
While this concept may seem overly ambitious at first glance, I would be excited to see such an interface in the forthcoming version of macOS.
Insights from iOS 19 Rumors
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 is set to be “the most significant redesign since iOS 7,” featuring a “new design language and aesthetic enhancements.” The report indicates that Apple intends to revise icons, menus, applications, and buttons to align more closely with visionOS’s aesthetic.
In a recent video, YouTuber Jon Prosser shared insights on what to expect from iOS 19, referencing an alleged internal build from a reliable source. He noted that icons would sport a new rounded shape, menus would be redesigned, and elements would shimmer as the device is moved. Furthermore, system applications are expected to introduce a new floating Tab View.
Supporting these claims, the artwork revealed at WWDC 2025 has drawn significant inspiration from visionOS, incorporating glass-like features, depth, and shadows.
Apple is scheduled to unveil iOS 19 during the opening keynote of WWDC 2025 on June 9.
