With just days to go for residents of New Jersey to claim a one-time stimulus check worth $4,000 for families, there has been a flurry of applicants for the payment. Officials have floated the Excluded Fund for New Jersey residents.

The $40M package is intended to provide respite to undocumented migrants who have been hit hard by the pandemic. If you are single and qualify to apply, you could get a stimulus check worth $2,000. For families who have an income below $55,000, the stimulus check can go up to $4,000.

Authorities have declared that the final application date for the Excluded New Jerseyans Fund will be February 28, 2022. Around 4,000 residents have already received over $9M.

Around 13,900 applications for the New Jersey stimulus check for immigrants are still unresolved, with 530 cases being rejected by the authorities.

There Are Apprehensions That Some Residents Might Miss Out On The New Jersey Stimulus Check

Residents of New Jersey have been informed that the process for application will be completed if the $40M is used up.

There has been apprehension among eligible residents of New Jersey that even eligible applicants could miss out on the immigrants’ check.

The extra fund came in from federal funds sent to the states by the federal administration under the American Rescue Plan bill passed by Joe Biden in March 2021.

American Civil Liberties Union’s Sarah Fajardo said that $40M would be insufficient to cover all the 500,00 residents of New Jersey who are eligible for this federal aid. She urged authorities to allocate additional funds to guarantee that all community members are covered, even as the state moves towards a genuine recovery.

Another group of 250,000 residents of Oregon could get a stimulus check. Essential workers could get a $2,000 stimulus check while unemployed residents returning to work will get $600. The plan will cost the state around $180M.
