After last month’s Brazilian certification and a quickly retracted teaser image leak, Logitech’s next-generation mouse has now been found in a filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), providing a clearer glimpse into its changes and similarities.
Here’s a look at the MX Master 4.
At first sight, the MX Master 4 maintains the design language that has made the MX Master 3 and 3S favorite tools among power users. However, a closer inspection reveals some notable differences.
The most significant change is the addition of a third button on the side of the mouse. While the functionality is still a mystery, some users hope for another remappable option, while others fear it might be related to AI features.
Additionally, the side profile is more sharply defined, which enhances the visibility of the customizable thumb button, now covering the entire thumb rest area, unlike the smaller, more subtle button on the current model.
Moreover, Logitech has repositioned the charging/battery indicator LED directly under the main scroll wheel, just below the button for switching MagSpeed scrolling modes.
Other minor adjustments include redesigned primary click buttons and a more pronounced side scroll wheel position, which we first noticed in the now-famous (and quickly removed) teaser image that leaked on Instagram last month.
Specs and Release Details Remain Unclear
Currently, there is no information on specs, pricing, or materials. However, we hope Logitech has addressed the concerns regarding materials and Bluetooth reliability that users have raised.
Given that both Anatel certification and EUIPO filings are now public, along with the fact that Logitech appears to have marketing images ready, it’s likely that an official launch is imminent.
