It’s been a big year for singer Jhene Aiko. According to recent news, she and Big Sean got married in June, and now they have a new baby girl. This is Aiko’s second child; she also has a son named Izaiah born in 2015 with ex-boyfriend Dot Da Genius.

In case you didn’t know, singer and songwriter Jhene Aiko is married to rapper Big Sean. She announced that she was expecting her second child in September 2019, but the couple waited until 2022 to reveal the baby’s gender.

Her first child, a daughter named Namiko Love (meaning “thankful love”) was born on July 28, 2017. The couple married on December 31st of that year at a private ceremony attended by close family members and friends like Busta Rhymes and Chris Brown.

Jhené Aiko Celebrates Her Second Baby

The newlyweds’ second baby arrived just over one year later; they welcomed their son Izaiah Michael Otunga into the world on November 8th 2022 in Los Angeles County, California.

Jhene Aiko’s mother is Japanese and her father is African American. The musician has been open about her biracial identity since childhood and even uses it as inspiration for some songs on her albums: In 2014’s Sail Out EP, she rapped “I’m half black/Half white/And my heart don’t know what side it’s on.” She continued this theme with her 2012 mixtape Sailing Soul(s), which features the song “No Lotion,” in which she raps: “They say I’m too black for you/But I ain’t too dark to be yours.”

Her first child with Big Sean was born in 2017; they separated earlier this year after he allegedly cheated on her while they were engaged (he denied this).

This is the singer’s second child. She already has a son named Seven Sirius Ashford, who was born in 2017.

She also has a song about him called “Seven,” which references her husband Big Sean (and his real name).

“He will always be my baby.”
