Mia Khalifa, the former adult movie actress, criticized Israel over the weekend through a series of posts on her official Twitter account. She posted a picture of herself where she was seen drinking some vino. In the caption, she wrote that her wine was older than Israel’s apartheid “state”.
Mia Khalifa’s Stance Is Not New
Mia Khalifa has long been an outspoken critic of Israel. Her social media messages have often been anti-Israel in the past as well. However, this month, the friction between the Hamas organization in Gaza and the Jewish-majority Israel had escalated to dangerous levels. At this moment, the tweet with the wine has drawn widespread attention from all quarters.
Jonah Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Dispatch, wrote that he loved how those who hate Israel think that the state is young. He adds that it is true that the modern Israel state was officially formed in 1948. However, that is still a decade before Iraq was founded. It was also 5 years before the founding of Egypt as well. As such, the nation of Egypt and Israel are quite old.
Darren Grimes, a commentator from Britain, chimed in and said that Mia Khalifa should try to drink the wine while in Gaza. And then, she can show us how quickly she runs away to Tel Aviv. Kurt Schlichter, a columnist for Townhall.com, also criticized the tweet saying that her terrorist group (Hamas) has not won a single war for the duration of the bottle.
Mia Khalifa, however, stood up for her statement on Sunday. One user had commented that she would not be stoned on the streets only in Israel, possibly referring to her past in the porn industry. Khalifa replied that Syria and Saudi are better for her since Israel would not stand for her passport indicating her place of birth as Lebanon.
