OnePlus has officially confirmed that the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will be launching in December, much to the excitement of smartphone enthusiasts. Teased earlier this month, these new models will debut in China, with both expected to offer cutting-edge features at competitive prices. According to the announcement on Weibo, the Ace 5 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the Ace 5 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The new OnePlus Ace series promises powerful specs

The OnePlus Ace 5 is rumored to feature a sleek design with a flat metal frame and an optional ceramic glass back. A teaser image shared by tipster Digital Chat Station hints at a triple-camera setup on the rear, including a 50 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP secondary lens, and a 2 MP sensor, along with a 16 MP front-facing camera. In contrast, the Ace 5 Pro may elevate its camera game with a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens. Both models will likely sport a 1.5K resolution display, with the Pro variant having a smaller 6.31-inch screen, catering to fans of more compact smartphones.

In terms of performance, the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro will feature impressive specs, including 100W wired charging, optical fingerprint sensors, and large 6,200–6,300 mAh batteries. These features, paired with the Snapdragon chipsets, will offer a flagship experience at a more affordable price point.

While the OnePlus Ace series will initially launch in China, rumors suggest it could make its global debut early next year under a different name. The standard Ace 5 is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for international markets, while the Ace 5 Pro may remain exclusive to China. If these rumors are accurate, the Ace 5 could become a popular mid-range option with flagship features at a more accessible price.
