Last summer, *Presumed Innocent* became a major success for Apple TV+, transforming from a limited series into a second season renewal. Now, Apple has revealed its plans for Jake Gyllenhaal’s replacement in the upcoming season.
Rachel Brosnahan to Star in *Presumed Innocent* Season 2
Today, Apple TV’s X account announced that *Presumed Innocent* has secured its new lead actress.
Rachel Brosnahan will take the lead role in the second season of this legal thriller.
Brosnahan is widely recognized for her performance in *The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel* on Prime Video, created by the team behind *Gilmore Girls*.
She is set to appear as Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot directed by James Gunn this summer.
Apple has also announced that the source material for season 2 is the book *Dissection of a Murder* by Jo Murray. Each season will now adopt an anthology format, focusing on a new ensemble of characters.
Here’s a brief synopsis of the book:
When Leila Reynolds is assigned her first murder trial, she’s stunned to discover that it involves the murder of a prominent judge. Despite lacking the experience for such a high-profile case, the defendant, Jack Millman, insists that she be the one to represent him.
The entire first season of *Presumed Innocent* is currently available on Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ is offered at $9.99 per month and includes acclaimed shows and films such as *Ted Lasso*, *Severance*, *The Morning Show*, *Silo*, and *Shrinking*.
