PSA: You’re Not Alone—Spotify is Experiencing Outages [Update: Resolved]

Update: Spotify has announced that the issue has been resolved as of 12 p.m. ET.

If you’re experiencing difficulties with Spotify this morning, you’re not alone. There is an ongoing outage affecting many users. The company has stated that its team is currently investigating the issue.

Spotify acknowledges current outage

A brief look at social media indicates that problems started around 8 a.m. ET. Reports of the outage have sharply increased according to Downdetector over the last hour.

Spotify has confirmed the outage on its support page, saying: “We’re receiving reports from users that the app is not loading properly or that they’re encountering playback problems. Some users also report difficulties accessing the Support site. These issues are occurring on both mobile and desktop platforms.”
