It has been ascertained that a fourth stimulus check won’t be on the priority list of Congress for this year. Instead, both the Senate and the House have set their sights on the approval of the infrastructure bill whilst working on the details that will help with the reconciliation of the budget.
Nevertheless, another payment from the federal government would definitely go a long way towards provisioning Americans with a stable paycheck- especially when the Delta variant has been surging on. Also, despite the impressive recovery of the economy, it hasn’t been impressive enough.
Does Washington have any plans for additional stimulus check money?
Nevertheless, the federal government does have some money to be approved- even if the fourth stimulus check doesn’t come to fruition. The IRS has been regularly sending several families monthly payments through the Child tax credit which was recently expanded. The latest check would be sent on the 13th of August.
The tax agency has also been sending supplemental ‘plus-up’ payments for stimulus amounts that were owed. Currently, there are $1,000 thank you payments making the rounds of schools in several states, while the residents of California will be seeing another round of Golden State Stimulus Checks- worth $600.
Ever since the Biden administration legitimized the American Rescue Plan back in March, the White House has come up with proposals for quite a few packages- which include the American Jobs Plan and the Build Back Better agenda. Yet, there haven’t been any talks about a possible fourth stimulus check. Although President Joe Biden has been relatively open to a whole range of ideas about the stimulus packages, the White House has assured that they are putting their best foot forward.
One of the complaints that have come up is the newly approved infrastructure bill doesn’t talk about human infrastructure- which can be fixed with another stimulus check.
