T-Mobile’s Latest Price Hike: Who Will Be Impacted?

T-Mobile has disclosed that a new wave of price hikes will take effect next month. This time, the company plans to increase charges by up to $5 per line for customers using various older plans.

T-Mobile Implements Price Increases

It appears that the changes will mainly affect subscribers who are still on older T-Mobile plans, including Magenta MAX and T-Mobile ONE, as reported by numerous affected users on Reddit today.

Here’s the message being sent to those impacted:

We are adjusting the price of some of our monthly service plans for the first time in nearly a decade. Effective 4/2/2025, your phone plan will increase by $5 per line each month. All the benefits you currently enjoy will remain unchanged, and your plan type and billing date will stay the same.

T-Mobile encourages affected customers to visit its website for further information regarding the price adjustments. The carrier claims that customers still save an average of 20% when compared to AT&T and Verizon on similar wireless and streaming services.

CNET has obtained an internal communication from T-Mobile president Jon Freier discussing the price hikes. Freier cites “increasing costs over recent years” as the rationale for these adjustments. Additionally, he assures that T-Mobile subscribers who experienced a price increase last summer will not face an additional hike this time around.

Customers enrolled in T-Mobile’s latest range of plans (Go5G, Go5G Plus, and Go5G Next) will not be subject to these increases.
