If I had the power to create AirPods in any hue, I’d definitely pick black as my top choice. My runner-up? Translucent AirPods. Apple has a “Transparent” variant of the Beats Studio Buds + that I should probably get just to champion the cause for clear gadgets. As it stands, AirPods are solely available in white, barring the AirPods Max line.
Here’s a glimpse of what the “Transparent” Beats earbuds look like:
Beats, a brand owned by Apple, truly excels in color choices. They even have a “Transparent Red” option for their $59 Beats Solo Buds!
A couple of years back, we were shown a prototype of AirPods with a white and dark blue transparent design:
Apple, if you create a version of the AirPods Pro 2 in that color, I would likely purchase what would be my fifth pair by now.
Note for future reference: I should apply whatever that bitter coating is on Nintendo Switch game cartridges, which prevents kids from wanting to eat them, to my next pair of AirPods. My dog, Nova, is a sweetheart, but my AirPods tend to get chewed when I inadvertently fall asleep with one in my ear.
Maybe she just wants to see what’s inside, much like the rest of us transparent enthusiasts. Where were we? Oh right, the latest transparent prototype AirPods. The X account @LusiRoy8 shared images of a claimed EVT (engineering validation test) prototype charging case with a transparent design.
