Brownlee’s video statement said he had received an email that said that he was required to tweet about the cryptocurrency. Tron “Partners” Allegedly Ask Celebrities To Promote Their Crypto Coin Discreetly

Brownlee currently has about 13.5 million subscribers. He further clarified that he had received several follow-up emails asking him to campaign for this crypto coin. He noted that he assumes that Tron is paying people to tweet about this cryptocurrency. The YouTuber said that an in-depth understanding of this series of emails made him doubtful. He said that the entire enterprise seemed sketchy to him.

The mails also mentioned that they called themselves “Ethereum killer”. And these unidentified Tron “partners” further asked him not to make his tweets seem sponsored in any sense.

Moreover, he noted that it is beyond the law to promote anything without disclosing that they are getting paid for the act, as per the regulations set by the Federal Trade Commission.

Following this video posted by the YouTuber, Tron Founder Justin Sun resorted to Twitter to clarify that he has not been involved in any such activity. He said that neither he nor his foundation has any knowledge of such undisclosed advertisements.
