Zens graciously provided their Quattro Charger Pro 4 for evaluation right after its launch by Apple, and it has quickly become a go-to device in our household. During my tests, I found an interesting alternative use that potential buyers might find useful.
Hands-on Impressions
Upon unboxing, the Zens Quattro Charger Pro 4 leaves a great initial impression.
I was pleasantly surprised by how compact and dense the charger is. I had anticipated a bulkier device to accommodate charging up to four gadgets, but it is delightfully small and weighs enough to feel substantial in hand.
The charger measures 6.89 × 2.68 × 2.60 inches and weighs 1.64 pounds.
As expected, powerful gadgets necessitate sturdy power cables. The included power supply is a bit bulky but comes with a generous 1.5 meters in length and features a braided white design. Each wireless charging spot can provide up to 15W of power, so the power adapter is rated for 65W, allowing multiple devices to charge simultaneously. It also includes plug adapters for type A (US), type C (EU), type G (UK), and type I (ANZ) regions.
It’s crucial to me that all four charging spots can simultaneously deliver the maximum available MagSafe charging speeds. This eliminates concerns about whether my phone will charge slower if someone else is using another charging spot for their device.
MagSafe Makes the Difference
MagSafe technology is pivotal to this product’s functionality. Without it, aligning devices for wireless charging could become a frustrating experience, requiring constant checks to ensure each device is charging properly.
Thanks to MagSafe, you can simply place your iPhone or AirPods case down, and it will magnetically align itself for the best charging possible, achieving up to 15W of power delivery.
The Zens Quattro Charger Pro 4 is also Qi2-certified, meaning it’s compatible with various devices that support wireless charging without needing MagSafe — such as the iPhone 16e and AirPods 4.
Another point of note is its capability to support iPhone sizes introduced after Apple’s failed three-device charging pad, AirPower, back in 2017. My testing included charging an iPhone 16 Pro Max, an iPhone 16 with an Apple MagSafe case, an iPhone 14 wrapped in an OtterBox case, and either AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4.
Even with a mix of devices—one using a Lightning port and the others USB-C—wireless charging significantly simplifies the charging process for families with multiple iPhones. The Zens Quattro Charger Pro 4 serves as an ideal charging station during meals or downtime.
Charger Bang for Your Buck
With a price tag just shy of $150, the Quattro Charger Pro 4 offers solid value and is far more elegant compared to purchasing four individual MagSafe chargers and adapters from Apple, which would total over $230.
This model is only $20 more than my preferred nightstand charging solution from Belkin, which conveniently supports charging one iPhone in Standby mode, an AirPods case, and an Apple Watch.
Interestingly, the Quattro Charger Pro 4 can be positioned vertically, allowing two unobstructed iPhones to be viewed in Standby mode, though this alternative use doesn’t quite work with Max models on the bottom. Nonetheless, it’s a clever hidden feature.
