The sudden appearance of Terra- the ecosystem in the crypto universe that had collapsed in May 2022- didn’t go unnoticed by the hordes of spectators who had been waiting for the opening day of the MLB season at Nationals Park, Washington DC.

A Twitter user went on to share the image of the ecosystem that was prominently highlighted on a banner with the slogan, ‘a decentralized economy needs decentralized money.’ The user then joked that the company sounded like it was pretty stable- and they would check it out later. Another user on the social media platform stated that this was the work of the Terra Club– a pre-game venue experience that was decidedly VIP- where it also had the sign behind the home plate at Nationals Park, and a huge sign in left-center- which promoted the cryptocurrency.

Interestingly, the major partnership between the Washington Nationals and Terra came into effect in the February of 2022- just a few months before the collapse of the ecosystem. The community of the coin had already committed $38.2 million in TerraUSD over five separate years to facilitate this deal. The founder of the ecosystem, Do Kwon, had also proposed the partnership through the governance platform of the community. It has already been announced that the co-founder of Terra is currently in police custody in Montenegro- will definitely face some of the harshest conditions in the penal system.

It has been reported that the conditions prevalent in the jails and prisons of Montenegro haven’t really seen much of a change from what was described in a human rights report by the United States State Department in 2020- so the co-founder of the firm might find it quite difficult to survive. The report also went on to cite a case from 2015 where prison officers were convicted of assaulting 11 inmates.
