When Andy Cohen was questioned about why he initially supported Jen Shah’s “side” in her fraud case during a CNN sit-down, he became agitated and stuttered over his explanation.

Andy Cohen sought to clarify Wallace by saying that he said it after the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star entered a guilty plea, but Wallace pointed out that it was before.

While RHOSLC cameras were rolling in March 2021, Shah, 49, and her aide, Stuart Smith, were both taken into custody. The two were detained on suspicion of conspiring to launder money and to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.

Shah initially maintained her innocence when appearing on season two of RHOSLC and pled not guilty to the allegations; but, in July 2022, she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. “I knew this was a mistake. According to Good Morning America, the reality star at the time wrote in a statement to the judge, “I knew many people were affected and I’m really sorry.

Andy Cohen admitted to Us Weekly in an exclusive interview that he didn’t “know what to say to folks who want her on the show… ” four months later, in November 2022. For season 4 of RHOSLC, I hope she does not do any jail time at all and is allowed to return right away. The Real Housewives executive producer addressed the context of his remarks during his CNN interview by saying he was questioned about her “position with the program.” ”

Cohen said, “I think I was saying, ‘Look, you know, sometimes you get to know someone and you come to like them, you hope they are not guilty of anything horrific.'” Cohen had previously told Wallace that Shah “[did something evil] and should go to jail.”

Shah was given a six-and-a-half-year prison term with five years of supervised release earlier this month. She has until February 17 to report to jail.
