The Pinterest company stated that a lot of users on the platform are engaging with shopping on the platform. Also, the traffic on the retailers has doubled this year.
The company released some updates on the commerce marketing for the application on Tuesday, created to ease the product discovery.
A new tap has been featured named “Shop”. it will be shown in the search and boards to make it easier for people to find the products from the retailers. This new feature will start today and it includes brand and price filters as well. The tap “Shop” on the boards will show you products that are inspired by the pins you save by time. Whether it’s fashion or decoration pins.
Pins visual search. This feature is integrated currently in shoppable pins directly, to ease it for you to discover and shop similar products.
Style guides. The last thing is a new style guides for home decoration and it can be found in the search tap. They have gathered groups of styles like “farmhouse” or “mid-century” and show up at the search screen when you type “dining room ideas” for example.
Why is it important. Digital commerce functionalities have been a basic part of Pinterest. They stated that the number of Pins that can be purchased has more than doubled in the past year and that the traffic of the retailer had been increased by 2.3 in the same period of time. The application is having higher engagement as well, with the engaging and shopping users growing by 44% every year.
