Due to the inflation from the last year, as well as the budget surplus in place, there are a few states that have continued issuing stimulus check payments and tax refunds for relief.
In the state of California, the residents of Los Angeles County could be eligible for monthly payments of around $1000 for two years, largely due to a Guaranteed Income Program, which would run under the name of Breathe.
In order to be eligible for this program, one must be a resident of Los Angeles County, should be around 21 years old, but under the age of 24, as of 1st September 2023- and should be in foster care up to the age of 18 or even later. One should also have an income that is equal to or less than 100% of the median of the area. In certain cases where there are a couple of members in the household, the total income would be lower than 120% of the local median.
Stimulus Check Payment Coming In A Few States Soon
In Georgia, the state government has plans of issuing Stimulus Checks of $250 for individuals and $500 for couples. These are for the residents of Georgia who have already filed for a return in both the tax years 2021 and 2022. Those who have filed before the 18th of April will be receiving their payment no later than the current month, which the government has stated could take up to eight weeks to receive.
In the state of Massachusetts, taxpayers are eligible to receive a Stimulus Check of around 14% of the state tax liability. These substantial returns are also a result of a revenue surplus that has exceeded the state law, with the tax authority being tasked with distributing the excess back to the taxpayers.
