Numerous Americans got rebates, reimbursements for taxes, one-time payoffs, or other kinds of stimulus funding last year in about half of the territories in the US. Even though federal funding has long since stopped, such state efforts provided much-needed support during one year of excruciatingly high inflation. 

The Stimulus Checks You Received In 2022 Is Probably Yours To Enjoy 

The greatest update that arrived in the shape of delayed IRS guidelines. It was finally declared in Feb that the majority of recipients of special contributions in the twenty-one places that made them are not required to disclose their respective stimulus checks classified income, following much speculation and discussion. The judgment is applicable to stimulus checks made in 2022 by the aforementioned states:

Colorado, California, Delaware, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Hawaii, Maine, Indiana, Illinois, New Mexico,  Oregon, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.

Moreover, if residents of these states satisfy specific requirements, they won’t be required to disclose stimulus funds as income. They had to have individualized their inducements or taken the personal exemption without earning a tax break, and they had to have gotten a refund for state revenue taxes they had already paid: Massachusetts, Georgia, Virginia, and South Carolina.

In 2023, There Will Still Be Some Stimulus Checks Available

Alaska

The state has opened the PFD filing period for 2023. Through March 31, residents may submit their forms online or in person at any of the state’s PFD offices. 

Massachusetts

Eligible Residents of Massachusetts are still eligible to receive a portion of the state’s 62F refund program for taxpayers. 

New Jersey

Applications for ANCHOR revenue tax reduction have to be submitted by February 28th for eligible New Jersey residents. 

New Mexico

Most of New Mexico’s 2022 refunds, which are worth above $1,500, have already been distributed. 

South Carolina

By the initial deadline of October 17, 2022, the majority of qualified South Carolinians had already submitted their tax rebates for 2021 and gotten their 2022 reimbursements.
