When the last batch of the stimulus payments was delivered to the citizens of the United States of America, a part of it was used to make the payments of the bills. When it came to the number of checks given to the people, there was an increase of 30% month-over-month.
It took place from the 17th to the 21st of March. This information is derived from the service of the bill pay from doxo’s latest research. Within the same timeframe, which went for over a week, the total stimulus payment that was made was higher. There was an increase of 37% in comparison to the exact same period in the month of February.
The Stimulus Payment Increase
Jim Kreyenhagen, the doxo VP of the department of consumer services and marketing, gave a statement concerning the payments. It was stated that a strong signal was being received from the citizens. It was also added that the number of people responsible for the payments was increasing.
Doxo has made the calculations of the stimulus payments on the basis of some data that was derived earlier. According to the results, around 62% of the payments are used by people to make the payments of their bills. A major part of the checks is used for the payment of the debt of their card.
In the week of the 17th of March, the total hike in the payments of the credit card in comparison to a similar time in the month of February was 29%. Doxo also found that the total increase in the amount that was paid was 72%. Krayenhagen gave a statement following the results of the research. It was stated that the fact that the receivers of the stimulus payments used it to pay the bills, was no surprise.
