Billie Lourd’s Emotional Acceptance Speech

Billie Lourd

Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd accepted a Hollywood Walk of Fame on behalf of her mother.

Carrier Fisher died in 2016 suffering a heart attack at the age of 60. It was indeed an emotional moment for all present at the ceremony. Definitely for her daughter.

Her speech was emotional and funny simultaneously.  She was just 23 years old when she lost her mother. She did realize what kind of impact her mother had on the industry. Carrie Fisher was not only an actress, she was a heartthrob.

Rebel’s Daughter Born Rebel Billie Lourd

She is proud to call her mother a rebel. Carrie Fisher never followed the rule book. She was candid all her career. So is her daughter Billie Lourd.

Billie Lourd confessed at the award ceremony how embarrassing it was for her. She couldn’t accept that her mother was an actress.

She didn’t realize what was so big of a deal about her. Then she watched her movies. It was a game-changer for her.

According to Billie Lourd, her mother was indeed hot. In the beginning, she hated to admit that. Like everyone, she didn’t want her mother to be someone cool or hot.

She used to tell her mom how lame she was. Boys in her school used to come and tell her how they all fantasized about her mom. They all wanted to take a glance at her.

As a daughter, it was humiliating for her.

Billie Lourd still confesses how no one could have beaten her mom as Princess Leia. Before resuming her speech she said mama you have made. It was indeed a proud moment for her. It would have made more sense if Carrie Fisher was there.
