Ethan Hawke

Ethan Hawke has said he owes his son an apology for swapping side court seats so that he could talk with Rihanna at a basketball game. Years later, the Training Day star has finally spoken about those sidesplitting moments at the basketball while praising Rihanna for the show-stopping halftime show at the Super Bowl.

The 52-year-old actor and writer, who has received double Oscar nominations in both categories, shared past photos on his Instagram account Monday. Ethan Hawke’s revelation of the viral photos from an NBA game came after Rihanna set the stage on fire at the Super Bowl show a day earlier.

The series of photos from 2015 shows Ethan Hawke sitting next to Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, then thirteen years, at an NBA basketball game. The first photo shows son Levon sitting between Rihanna and Ethan Hawke.

The second photo reveals that Hawke had asked Levon to change seats with him as he wanted to chat with Rihanna. Hawke looked relaxed and suave in his courtside seat even as he spoke with the Diamonds singer. Levon though appeared visibly ill at ease as he is seen visibly embarrassed in one pic.

Since they were taken in 2015, the photos have long been viral on the net. They were even posted on Father’s Day by Maya Hawke, Ethan’s daughter and the star of Stranger Things.

Now, in a humorous vein, Ethan Hawke has apologized to Levon, for having stolen his fan moment with the Brilliant singer. He wrote a hilarious post where he spoke of Rihanna’s brilliant Super Bowl halftime performance and hoped that his son would forgive him for having stolen his moment over 7 years back. The Instagram post had 3 photos from the 2015 encounter.

Even Levon was there in the comments section when he mentioned the iconic content.
