After receiving an Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis, John Lydon’s wife passed away at 80. Reside in peace, Nora Forster began a message on social media posted by Lydon’s management team on Thursday, also called Johnny Rotten. The post that shared the news of Nora Foster, wife of John Lydon’s (or, Jonny Rotten) passing stated that she, for many years had been coping with Alzheimer’s. The couple had been together for more than 50 years.

The post which had been paired with the duo’s lovely photo, also said that amid her illness Johnny Rotten had become a full-time caregiver for his wife. It also earnestly requested fans to give Johnny time and space to process his loss.

Johnny Rotten loved his wife way too much. This showed through his interview where the 67-year-old punk rock legend disclosed that the role of her “caregiver” had been taken on by him. He even vowed to remain by her side through everything and not let anyone do anything to her. About his wife, Johnny Rotten said that for him, the genuine person was there inside, the one with whom he had fallen in love.

Johnny Rotten On His Wife’s Illness

Opening up about his wife’s illness, Johnny Rotten said that the illness made her mind work as if in a constant hangover. Sometimes, she may recall something but most of it was covered in a fog. He realized that being the sole carer was selfish and that he was refusing to be with her by doing so. He said that perhaps he was acting way too protectively. Thus, in order to retain the charm, he would often spend time watching comedies with her.

Johnny Rotten recalls that often when they would Skype, she forgot everything after a few brief acknowledgments yet was able to remember 20-40-year-old stories. The human brain does work in strange mysterious ways. She won’t give up without a fight, though, said the legend. She won’t stop laughing either. And she will unquestionably, unquestionably be adored along the road, he said.
