Governor Murphy launched the ANCHOR scheme on 11th October and has since distributed property tax reduction payments to many New Jerseyans.

Based on research by the Tax Foundation, New Jersey boasts the most effective rate of taxation in the nation, at around 2.23%. Older renters earned $700 under this program, while the majority of elderly homeowners received checks of $1,750.

For Whom Is The NJ Property Tax Rebate Check Eligible?

If a renter or homeowner satisfies specific qualifying standards, the municipality of NJ offers many incentives. The Property Tax Refund scheme, commonly referred to as the SF, is one such perk. Owners of portable homes in certain parks built for the purpose as well as homeowners 65 years of age or over who receive FSS payments for disabilities are eligible for this program.

Candidates must have given in full or in part through portable home park fees for property taxes on their primary residence in NJ. They may also have resided in NJ for the last ten years or more, and they must have spent at least three of those years in the house for which compensation is being requested.

FAIR Rebate is another benefit that qualified renters and homeowners may take advantage of. To be eligible, candidates must have paid in full or in part through rent for property taxes on their main home in NJ as of October 1. For homeowners, their annual gross income cannot be more than $200,000, and for tenants, it cannot be more than $100,000. Benefits: At least $500 and an aggregate of $1,200 are available to homeowners who are 65 years of age or older or who are handicapped. At least $300 – $350 are available to homeowners who are under 65 and are not disabled—but not above the cost of property taxes paid.
