Emma Heming Willis, Bruce Willis‘ wife, has received an outpouring of love and support since she provided an update following the news that her husband had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

The 67-year-old Die Hard actor retired in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, but in February, Demi Moore, Emma and Bruce’s ex-wife, and his three adult daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah released a joint statement in which they revealed that his condition had sadly worsened into frontotemporal dementia or FTD. The time Emma Heming Willis has spent learning about the illness and arming herself with the resources she needs to manage Bruce’s condition has now been made public.

Emma Heming Willis’s message received an immediate response from her followers, many of whom called the 44-year-old and Bruce’s family “inspirational”. On February 16, the family released a statement that detailed Bruce’s deteriorating health, saying, in part: “Since we initially disclosed Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has worsened and we now have a more precise diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).

A set of neurological conditions that affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain are together referred to as frontotemporal dementia. This implies that some of these lobes shrink, and the shrinkage of these areas might result in speech impairments, emotional troubles, and personality changes.
