The Season 2 finale of “And Just Like That,” the remake of “Sex and the City,” will include actress Kim Cattrall reprising her legendary performance as Samantha Jones.
She will show up in one scene. Without seeing or conversing with the series’ performers, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or with ‘And Just Like That’ showrunner Michael Patrick King, Cattrall reportedly shot her lines on March 22 in New York City, according to insiders, claims ‘Variety’.
Samantha was outfitted for her part by Patricia Field, the well-known ‘Sex and the City costume designer who hasn’t been working on ‘And Just Like That’.

Requests for feedback from a Cattrall representative went unanswered. An inquiry for comment from Max did not immediately receive a response. For the time being, Cattrall’s portrayal of Samantha won’t continue the story.
Fans of “Sex and the City,” who have been screaming for even a glimpse of Samantha, the adored, powerful publicist who put the “sex” in the trailblazing series that aired on HBO for six seasons from 1998 to 2004, inspired two movies, will undoubtedly be thrilled by Samantha’s reappearance in any form.
When Kim Cattrall didn’t think the script for a third movie about Samantha did the character credit, she publicly proclaimed in 2016 that she was done playing Samantha.
“I would have liked for all of them to have witnessed a particular kind of incident that would justify a third film,” Cattrall said to Variety in 2022. That didn’t take place. Parker and King both expressed their inability to imagine a situation in which Cattrall would reprise her role as Samantha when speaking to the media the previous year.
Currently, Kim Cattrall and Robert De Niro are co-stars in the Lionsgate movie “About My Father.” In the upcoming June 22 launch of the Netflix drama “Glamorous,” she will play a successful makeup entrepreneur. ‘And Just Like That’s’ second season debuts on June 22, but Cattrall’s Samantha scene won’t air until August.
