The Brown family is facing some serious allegations from Kody Brown’s adult son, Logan. In an episode of Sister Wives that aired on Jan. 3, Logan and Garrison criticized their father for trying to get them to “sign a contract” in order to appear on the show when they reached adulthood.

According to Logan, this contract included clauses that would’ve made it impossible for him and his siblings to ever leave the show no matter how they felt about it once they were older—and he also alleged that Kody attempted to use the show as leverage against them without taking into account if that was actually what his children wanted. “It was kind of like this very weird power play,” Logan said at one point during the episode.”My dad was like ‘I want you on camera more often,’ so let’s sign some documents so we can control you more.”

Kody Brown Was “Controlling” Kids?

Kody Brown, the father of a family that has been on TV for eight seasons now and has 17 children, is facing some serious allegations from his own son.

On Monday night’s episode of Sister Wives, Kody’s eldest child — 23-year-old Logan Brown — came forward with some pretty shocking claims about his father and how he treats his wives.

According to Logan, when he was growing up, Kody would make it clear that “he controlled everyone in the family through fear.” The way he did this? He said that if one wife or daughter didn’t do what he wanted them too, then another wife or daughter would suffer as well. So basically: If someone broke a rule they’d be held responsible financially because they had an effect on all their sisters’ lives!

According to Logan, he and his brother were 16 and 14 years old when their father first broached the idea of signing a contract in order to appear on the show. That contract would have allowed them to make money from appearing on Sister Wives and also kept them from being able to sue for any damages as a result of their involvement with it.

The reason for Kody’s request? According to Logan, his dad wanted to “make sure that we can’t sue him later down the line if things get rough.” But Logan instead saw it as an attempt by his father “to control [his] entire family through me.” He was also concerned that “if I sign this thing, then they’re going to start signing contracts with all my siblings.”
