Meri Brown Grief Stricken After Brother’s Passing

“I’d have been the sole survivor of the initial four after his death,” she said. My younger sister Teresa, who was our sister, passed away from cancer around 2006. In 2015, we lost our eldest brother Marc due to cardiac problems. Adam now has a different sort of cancer. Then it’s just me. I now realize that it was not only me but him as well. “The seven of us are only mom’s kids; I have my three younger sisters here still. plus a great number of others from the vast family.

“The only four of us who had been born in California and remember our early years there? The four that existed prior to our migration to Utah, when my parents’ poly family life began?” she emailed. “Perhaps it’s because we had been born within a year and a half to two years of one another? Elaine, the fifth child, was born barely three years later. “I have no idea what it has been, but the original 4 have always had something about them. Just different, not better. Not closer, just different,” she remarked. Maybe one day I’ll understand it, maybe not. Time will only tell.
