Sarah Jessica Parker Was Born To Play Carrie Bradshaw

She wasn’t immediately offered the role of Carrie Bradshaw. The production previously offered the role to Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. They auditioned for that role. They both were recently invited to And Just Like That… The Writers Room podcast. They shared a decades-long role. The roles even now the young generation admires and look up to.

Sarah Jessica Parker was perhaps made for Carrie Bradshaw. No one could have done it with excellence apart from her. Charlotte York was initially offered the role of Carrie Bradshaw. When she read the script, she had the feeling almost quite immediately. She could be anyone but not Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Role Was The Reason These Women Become Friends For Life

Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and Sarah Jessica Parker all became friends when they auditioned for Sex and the City back in 1998. The sitcom later became a movie with two parts. Cynthia Nixon also auditioned for the role, which perfectly fit Sarah Jessica Parker only. Cynthia faced many failures before landing in the sitcom with Miranda Hobbes’s role.

Carrie Bradshaw was carried solely by Sarah Jessica Parker. Kristin Davis said Charlotte York’s role was under work. But she understood her. It never mattered to her if the role was not properly formed. Cynthia Nixon auditioned for Carrie Bradshaw, and the director said not so much. In Kristin Davis’s case, the director was okay to offer her that role.

It was indeed a heartbreaking moment Cynthia Nixon was going through. She was ready to perform any role in the movie she was offered. The writer and director of Sex and the City, Michael Patrick King, said Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon were the essence of the world. Season 2 of just like that was assigned to Sarah Jessica Parker and the other two, except for Kim Cattrall, who refused to join them.
