Jenna Bush Hager thought back to a high school diary entry where she urged herself to keep her virginity and hold it tightly. She revealed as much on Wednesday’s broadcast of “With Hoda and Jenna.” She added that she would also reflect upon herself and hope that she would manage to protect her virginity post-grade nine.

The host instantly caused guest Amy Poehler and co-host Hoda Kotb to start laughing about the “embarrassing” diary entry.

She said that in 9th grade, she was simply afraid that she wouldn’t have the strength to maintain it. Jenna Bush Hager, age 41, stated with a shrug and a chuckle.

Poehler, 51, quipped that she convinced herself that she could do it and hold it tightly and that it was only for a little time since she was so close, Jenna Bush Hager revealed as she entered the room. When Jenna offered to tell Amy her most awkward entry only if she revealed hers, the three of them were jokingly debating the issue of reading old diary entries they had written years before.

Before Jenna Bush Hager’s admission, Poehler stated that many of hers were about dating and about not receiving the love she gave to others. Bush Hager met her would-be hubby, Henry C. Hager, around 2004 so she didn’t have to worry about dating for very long.

In 2007, after requesting permission from Jenna Bush Hager’s father, ex-President George Bush, Henry proposed, and they were married in 2008 May. The couple has three children together: Hal, 3, Poppy, 8, and, Mila, 10.

NBC broadcasts “With Hoda and Jenna” every day at 10 in the morning.
