Inspired by Amy Krouse-book Rosenthal’s of the same name, “Family Leave” follows Jess (Garner) and Bill Walker (Helms) as they attempt to maintain family ties as their children develop into young adults. The Walkers must work together to achieve their goals of a promotion, college interview, record contract, and soccer tryout after a fortuitous meeting with an astrological reader results in a complete body swap on the morning of each member’s most significant day. Jess and Bill’s kids, CC and Wyatt, are played by Emma Myers (“Wednesday”) and Brady Noon (“The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers”).
The film “Family Leave” was directed by Joseph McGinty Nichol (aka McG) and was written by Victoria Strouse, with updates by Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair. Jennifer Garner, Nicole King Solaka of Linden Entertainment, McG and Mary Viola of Wonderland, and Lawrence Grey and Ben Everard of Grey Matter Productions are also producers. It is executive produced by David Hyman and Jason Brian Rosenthal. According to the source, the plot of the film centers on a family that has to work together when a magical body swap ruins everyone’s chances at a promotion, college interview, record contract, and soccer tryout on the same day.
