It’s been a tumultuous week for Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, but the reality star is moving forward with her life after the split. Kardashian recently posted a quote about relationships on her Instagram Story that suggests she will be fine regardless of what happens in them.

The social media mogul shared another meme that read, “Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings & emotions.” A source close to West told us that Kardashian “was not interested in Pete going out of his way to see her or spend time with her kids.”

After the pair’s recent split, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star posted a quote to her Instagram Story on Thursday that suggests she will be fine regardless of what happens in relationships.

Kim Kardashian Comments On Pete Davidson

In a post accompanying a black-and-white photo of herself, Kim Kardashian wrote: “I don’t believe in soulmates or love at first sight. I believe you can fall in love with someone without realizing it, and it takes you years to realize that your love has grown into something real and true. It takes time for people to meet each other as they are meant to be together. Love is not always this perfect fairytale storybook romance… but it can still be beautiful if you let it grow naturally over time.”

Kim Kardashian’s message is a good one—the more we learn to love ourselves, the less likely we are to leave toxic relationships that don’t make us happy.

But it’s also worth noting that this process can be long and arduous, especially when the person who needs to change is yourself. We all have things about ourselves that we’d like to improve or change (or at least know how to deal with better).

And while we’re all in a constant state of self-improvement and growth, sometimes it can feel as if everyone else has already gotten there before us. It’s easy for someone like Kim Kardashian to assert that “the more people” she meets will help her “love herself.” This may be true for her specifically; many people don’t need any outside influence in order to love themselves (they just do).

But other people may not be able to completely grasp this concept until they’ve seen what life looks like without being defined by their relationship problems or lack thereof—or until they’ve met some new friends who put them in touch with their own value apart from their romantic status.
