While Accepting The CGA At The MTV Awards 2023, Jennifer Coolidge Supported The WGA Strike

The WGA union strike is still going on, and Jennifer Coolidge has been vocalizing her support of it. At the MTV Awards 2023 on Sunday, The 61-year-old Legally Blonde star, thanked the authors while winning the CGA. Saying that being a proud part of SAG, she stood there that day at par with her brothers and sisters from WGA. Jennifer Coolidge further added that great humor originated with writers and these writers were currently struggling to save their rights all over the world.

Jennifer Coolidge continued, quoting Shakespeare that “play” was everything, implying her support for the writers’ protests. In addition to thanking MTV, Coolidge also recognized Sacha B Cohen, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart as previous recipients of the CGA.

Jennifer Coolidge Speaks Up In Support Of The Ongoing Writer’s Strike 

The actress who is known for her outstanding performance in classic movies such as Legally Blonde, The White Lotus, A Cinderella Story, and BIS, was emphasized in the video introducing her expressing her gratitude for receiving the wonderful Comedic Genius Award. Jennifer further said that her entire experience has been wonderful since she got to work with brilliant artists such as Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Hart, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Jack Black along with Will Ferrell, and even made a joke about how she gets to hang out with them at clubs now. She also added that they were all nice and fun people to both work and hang out with. Along with joking that the medal was crafted out of her favorite food, which was popcorn, Jennifer Coolidge kept up with fashion by ending her talk with a lively dance.

After her SNL debut, which had been scheduled for its season 48 final, was postponed because of the strike, Coolidge showed her support for the WGA. Sunday’s award event changed from a presentation to a footage-based one due to the strike.
