Both Marvel and Sony are not letting go of any straws that might make their audience flock to the cinemas to watch the latest Spider-Man 3 even if it meant bringing old stars like Tobey Maguire back. Interestingly, this movie would be setting itself up like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, wherein it would be accommodating several different multiverses and parallel universes.
Who Are the Other Stars Reprising their Roles for Spider-Man 3?
Also, it would pay homage to the Avengers, few of whom might also have a scene or two in the movie. But the most interesting part of the entire movie is that people from the other Spider-Man movies would be reprising their role in Spider-Man 3. And this includes the first Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and the Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield.
The Hollywood Reporter did talk about the presence of Alfred Molina on the sets of Spider-Man 3. Now, most of us remember him from his Doctor Octopus role in Spider-Man 2. Connecting the dots, one might guess that Tobey Maguire would probably be in this film, seeing as Doctor Octopus was primarily his nemesis.
The Collider reports that most of the previous stars would return if they can settle their disputes with Sony and Marvel. Andrew Garfield, Kirsten Dunst, need to reconcile their differences with the producers, while Maguire has to see to it that he is able to make it in time. Also, Emma Stone, who played the role of Gwen Stacy might find a role- but only if her pregnancy doesn’t derail plans.
J.K. Simmons had already been roped in as J. Jonah Jameson in Far From Home, but he might be playing the original role that he played in Sam Raimi’s Spiderman. Also, Jamie Foxx would be coming out as Electro once again. And yet, Tobey Maguire returning seems to be the biggest news of them all.
